How to add nofollow attribute to a link in WordPress blog post

Adding nofollow attribute to a link is very easy. I have already covered in my earlier topic about how to add nofollow to your links easily. But for this, you need to edit your html code and recode your href tags with nofollow attributes manually. If you are having few links, it will take just a matter of time to do so. But, what if you are having many links and you wanted to nofollow all of your external links? Continue to read on how to do that.

Sometimes, when blogging, you might require to link to some non-relevant sites in your blog posts. Say for example, if you are writing an article on SEO and you were showing an example on affiliate marketing and for that, you need to link to few affiliate links and these links you should definitely nofollow them because according to Google’s best SEO practices, you should always nofollow non relevant links in your blog posts. If there are few links, you can simply edit your html and replace with nofollow tags. What if, you have to edit 10 blog posts or even hundred and what if, if you wanted an easy procedure to do this?

If you are using WordPress, it has plugins for all kind of needs, so it has a plugin for to nofollow your links.

WordPress plugin to nofollow links:

Step1: In your WordPress dashboard, click on Plugins > Add New

Step 2: Now, type for Ultimate nofollow in your plugin search bar located at the top right hand side in your dashboard.

Step 3: Now, click on the first result and click on Install button to install the plugin to your WordPress website.

Step 4: Once you have installed the plugin, click on Activate plugin to activate the plugin.

Step 5:

Now, try to edit any of your blog post, by clicking on edit button. In your WordPress post editor, click on hyperlink button as shown below.

Step 6:

Now, select the links you want to nofollow and click the hyperlink button in your WordPress editor. Then you will be shown with an option asking if you want to nofollow the selected link. If you want to nofollow the link, then just select the nofollow option, then automatically it will nofollow the selected link. It is the most convenient way to nofollow your links.

If you go to Settings > Nofollow in your WordPress admin panel.

There is an option to Nofollow all your comment links and also there is an option to nofollow all your blogroll links.

plugin allows you to quickly add nofollow to your links. There are other nofollow plugins available in WordPress too which offers same kind of functionalities.
